3rd Annual World Wide Photo Walk: The Images
Jul 27th 2010
I have reluctantly returned from my vacation in Utah. One of the first things I did was process the images I captured while participating in the 3rd Annual World Wide Photo Walk. I couldn’t delay this task as we have a limited time to submit our photographs to be considered for the prizes being awarded by Scott Kelby and the sponsors of this event.
This year I had the pleasure of walking down Main St in Panguitch, Utah. Stephanie, our walk leader, was a wonderful host and gifted us with her knowledge of this small town as the residents got ready to celebrate Pioneer Day.
I also enjoyed getting to know the other walkers. There was a mother who managed to sneak away from home to attend this photo walk. This was indeed a rare treat for her considering she has two sets of twins ages 4 and almost 1. Then we had our professional photographer, the photography teacher from the local high school plus one student. We also had a gentleman and his guest from Scotland. Definitely a unique mixture of photographers.
Here are a few STATS about this year’s photo walk. Photo Walks were held in 1,111 cities throughout the world. Approximately 33,485 people participated in this year’s event. I alone captured over 100 images while walking down Main St in 90 minutes. Here are some of those images:
Now I need your help. I can not decide which image to submit as my entry into the contest. I have it narrowed down to about 6 images. Please vote on your favorite photograph now by clicking this pink link.
Again I thank you for taking the time to help me decide which image to submit. Well I am off to go process more images from my vacation. I do hope you will come back to see the images. Bryce Canyon and Zion are sights you do not want to miss. Be sure to subscribe to the RSS Feed so you don’t miss it.
Celebrate Life and Capture It!
Patty

Hi Patty
Stopping by from SITS/31DBBB you were very sweet and stopped by my site
I just got a fancy camera (two books on how to use it, really?) so I am very excited to find your site. I love photography and I will be back!

That is awesome to hear Kathryn. What camera did you purchase? And what books are you reading.

I tried to vote for #6, but the survey didn’t work for me (Firefox/Ubuntu).

Serene, I am really sorry to hear that you had problems voting. Can you tell me any more about the problems you encountered so that I can remedy the situation.

Wow! You take BEAUTIFUL photos! I’m not sure if I would pick #1 or #4. My strongest impulse is towards #4 (the bench). Something about it just speaks to me.
Made my way here via the comment thread on BlogFrog and I am delighted to meet you! I haven’t spent a lot of time here yet so I can’t offer too much advice but I will tell you that your header (which is GORGEOUS) took a LONG time to load and then that huge map (of the walk) was a bit distracting from the actual content of this post. But I do love your pictures!

Thank you for your many compliments Beth. While photo walking, I was drawn to the bench as well because of how the light was hitting it first thing is the morning. And “Thank you” for your input on my blog. I greatly appreciate it. It’s nice to know what works and doesn’t work for the people who this written for.

Hello Patricia
I like the log on wheels one. Just nice and rustic.
I went on the photowalk too but later in the day after the group because it was just too hot in the morning that day.
I added you as a contact on flickr
Glad to make contact with you.
